Live Quests

  • Grant period: 2013
"Live quests" - is a project that received Genesis funding support in 2013. It aims at attracting wide range of Jewish students and non affiliated youth living in St Petersburg to the Jewish community through organising five live quests in the city in which everybody can participate regardless of their level of Jewish knowledge.

Thanks to the effective technology each participant learns the history not through teaching it but through living it. Among others quests' topics there will be: Israel-1948, Jews and Russian Revolution of 1917, Golden Menorah, etc.

This grant is a part of Grassroots annual competition, organized by Genesis Philanthropy Group and UJA-Federation of New York. The goal of the competition is to discover and support the best local initiatives aimed at the revival of Jewish identity, the preservation of cultural and historical heritage and the development of socially active Jewish communities.

Goals and objectives

  • Widen the knowledge of places, connected with Jewish history in St. Petersburg.
  • Involve more affilated and non affilated young Jews to Jewish traditions and values.
  • Prepare metodological materials for future topics of the quests.
