Grants in the Former Soviet Union

Mishpachteinu Club

Mishpachteinu Club

The idea of a Mishpachteinu club belongs to the Board of Trustees of Kazan School #12, an independent non-profit organization. Genesis Philanthropy Group supported this project in 2010. The project united School #12 graduates into a Mishpachteinu club to continue collaborating and supporting the school after graduation.

In the first stage of the project, a sociological questionnaire was sent to school graduates to help identify the challenges faced by the school and the state of the graduates' readiness to help. The information gathered helped in the establishment of the Alumni Society, tasked with fundraising and identifying the most effective methods for solving the school's challenges. The Society's members also help the school through their professional expertise and capacities.

This grant is a part of Grassroots annual competition, organized by Genesis Philanthropy Group and UJA-Federation of New York. The goal of the competition is to discover and support the best local initiatives aimed at the revival of Jewish identity, the preservation of cultural and historical heritage and the development of socially active Jewish communities.
