Conference of European Jewish Leaders and Rabbis

The Conference of European Jewish Leaders and Rabbis was established in 1956 and is currently the largest international organization of European communities and their leaders.

The conference is made up of 400 European communities from more than 40 countries. Every two years the conference organizes forums that bring together influential religious leaders, well-known European experts from a range of fields, and leading political and public figures from vrious countries to one of the European capitals.

The forums discuss a wide spectrum of issues concerning world Jewish communities, from anti-Semitism to interfaith dialogue, war on drugs, the strengthening of Jewish identity and the development of Jewish education.

Genesis Philanthropy Group provided financial support for religious leaders from a number of the FSU communities that participated in the 2009 forum.

Goals and Objectives 

  • Give FSU Jewish community leaders an opportunity to participate in the forum of the Conference of European Rabbis and receive professional consultations on subjects of interest and concern to them.
