Grants in Israel

"The Holiday That is Always with You" is a project that has been in existence for a number of years. It is implemented by the Keitar Cultural and Educational Center.

The Center organizes events dedicated to Jewish holidays and important dates on the Jewish calendar for immigrants from the FSU. The events vary in format and are intended for a wide audience. In addition to lectures, concerts and plays staged by a communal theater company, Yesh, FSU immigrants are also offered educational tours.

More than 8,000 people participated in "Holiday" events from 2008-2011. According to participants, communal celebration of Jewish state holidays helps significantly in overcoming the culture shock which is an inevitable part of the complex process of adaptation to Israeli society.
