Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley

The Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley (APJCC) is dedicated to the enhancement of Jewish life by providing for the social, cultural, educational, recreational, health and wellness needs of their community.

APJCC provides a common meeting place and extend these services as a resource for the entire Jewish and general community in the town of Los Gatos and greater Silicon Valley.

In 2015, with support of Genesis Philanthropy Group, APJCC expands its Russian-speaking Jewish Engagement Initiative that provides programming for Russian-speaking Jewish children, young adults, young professionals, and families in Silicon Valley, California. The initiative supports wide range of activities including holiday celebrations and gatherings, Hebrew lessons for kids, series of lectures and speakers with relevant topics for Russian-speaking community, book club featuring Russian-American Jewish authors, intergenerational Shabbaton, and much more.
Financial support for this program was provided by Genesis Philanthropy Group along with
Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center of Silicon Valley, Jewish Agency for Israel, and participant contributions.

Goals and Objectives

  • Young RSJ children and teens will develop a process of assessing information through a Jewish lens, looking at Jewish values to inform their decision-making process.
  • Young adults will come to see the Jewish community as a primary point of community connection.
  • Young families will build important relationships that will encourage them to set down roots within the Jewish community.
  • Encourage RSJ community to feel a sense of belonging to the larger Jewish community and to have a Jewish home as Russian-speaking Jews.
