Jewish Book Council

Jewish Book Council

Jewish Book Council is a New York metro-based non-for profit organization whose sole purpose is the promotion of Jewish books. Jewish Book Council Network membership program engages more than 100
 organizations across North America.

In 2015, Genesis Philanthropy Group supported the literary series, Unpacking the Book: Jewish Writers in Conversation, geared towards creating an awareness of the breadth of Jewish literature and using literature as a vehicle for larger conversations about the fabric of the Jewish community, domestically and abroad.

GPG funding allowed Jewish Book Council to organize an event featuring “Soviet Roots, American Branches” program, inviting Russian-speaking Jewish authors lining in North America, Gal Beckerman, Yelena Akhtiorskaya and Boris Fishman, to the panel discussion.

Financial support for this project is provided by Genesis Philanthropy Group, along with David Berg Foundation, Jewish Museum, National Book Foundation and other generous funders.
