JIAS Decade-Plus Immigrants: Leadership Bridging Cultures

JIAS Decade-Plus Immigrants: Leadership Bridging Cultures

For over 85 years, Jewish Immigrant Aid Services of Canada (JIAS) has been a critical force in shaping and building the Jewish communities of Canada. Founded on August 30th, 1922, JIAS Canada has assisted Eastern European Jews escaping pogroms, Holocaust survivors, Bosnian refugees, and a multitude of other Jews from around the world.

In 2009, Genesis Philanthropy Group supported JIAS Decade-Plus Immigrants: Leadership Bridging Cultures, a lay leadership development program. As part of the program, JIAS hired consultants and used local resources to develop a curriculum, implement a 'Train the Trainer' session for leaders of host agencies, and implement the Leadership Development Training Program for 15 participants in Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver.

Financial support for this program was provided by Genesis Philanthropy Group along with a number of private Jewish philanthropists.
