Russian Speaking Jewish Grant Committee at the Natan Fund

Russian Speaking Jewish Grant Committee at the Natan Fund

As a thought leader in the Jewish philanthropic world Natan funds Jewish innovation and social entrepreneurs, the emerging Jewish nonprofit “innovation ecosystem,” and creats new philanthropic vehicles that reach and engage potential Jewish philanthropists.

Genesis Philanthropy Group provided partial matching funding for the first ever Russian-speaking Jewish grant committee under the Natan’s auspices, in order to catalyze the giving and enhance the grants’ impact.

The grant committee supports innovative organizations, which work towards fostering and enhancing a sense of Jewish identity among Russian-speaking Jews. Over the course of the grant cycle, the committee members learn about critical issues of modern philanthropy, create and publish request for proposal, review applications, meet with organizations and social entrepreneurs, and make decisions together about the grant recipients.

Additionally, the committee members participate in events called Natan Salon, where they build connections with other young donors and learn about a broad range of philanthropic opportunities. Every year, one Natan Salon event is dedicated to the philanthropy and social innovations within the Russian-speaking Jewish community.

Financial support for this program is provided by Genesis Philanthropy Group, along with the Natan Fund and other generous funders.
