The Jewish Museum

Genesis Philanthropy Group's grant to the Jewish Museum allowed for extensive programming for Russian-speaking Jews around Chagall and the Artists of the Russian Jewish Theater: 1919 - 1949, an exhibit held from late 2008 to early 2009. Children's, family, and adult programs and activities were designed to engage Russian-speaking Jews in the New York area; to increase their awareness of their heritage; and foster their sense of Jewish identity. JM worked with a range of Russian Jewish organizations in New York City including COJECO and its Center Without Walls, the JCC's Generation R, and Birthright Israel NEXT and EZRA USA to target young professionals and families with young children. The Genesis grant also allowed for press coverage of the exhibit in Russian-language media.
