Limmud Colorado: Outreach to RSJ Participants

Limmud Colorado is a growing community organization that strives to enhance informal Jewish education for young adults by organizing yearly conferences and smaller events.

In 2009, Genesis Philanthropy Group provided financial support for this organization, allowing it to expand its outreach to Russian-speaking Jews of Colorado and attract them to the Limmud conference.

The Genesis grant allowed representatives of Russian-speaking Jewish communities to attend general conference events and several special sessions organized specifically for Russian-speaking Jews.

The project was supported by Genesis Philanthropy Group, Rose Community Foundation, MazelTot, Roots & Branches, Rose Youth, and 18 Pomegranates.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE GRANT

• To integrate Russian-speaking conference participants in the community of Limmud Colorado;
• To develop additional events and sessions of interest to young Russian-speaking Jewish adults;
• To encourage Russian-speaking Limmud participants to volunteer at future conferences.
