Limmud LA
Limmud Los Angeles is a community organization uniting Jews in Southern California through the production of a conference on Jewish education, arts and culture.
The Limmud conference is a yearly educational event, which attracts hundreds of Jews of various ages, professions and socio-economic status. During the four days of the conference, participants attend lectures, seminars, Jewish text study sessions, exhibitions, performances and other events, all of which are organized by volunteers.
With the support of Genesis Philanthropy Group, Russian-speaking Jews of Los Angeles were able to participate in the 2009 Limmud Conference, while the conference organizers offered some sessions developed specifically for this Russian-speaking audience.
Genesis Philanthropy Group has joined Jewish Community Foundation LA, The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, Samuel and Helene Soref Foundation, Nathan Cummings Foundation, and Righteous Persons Foundation in supporting this project.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE GRANT
