Maccabi World Union: Moscow Children's Soccer Club

The Moscow Maccabi Soccer club is part of the Maccabi World Union, a worldwide youth and sports organization devoted to strengthening Jewish identity and traditions through athletic, educational, cultural, and social activities. GPG funding supports a Maccabi children soccer club, the 2007 winner of the Moscow Youth Soccer League Tournament. The team is comprised of both Jewish and non-Jewish children under the age of 14. With GPG support, Moscow Maccabi participates in sports events and organizes Jewish holiday celebrations in an effort to promote tolerance, and increase interest in Jewish culture and history among Russian children.
