Moscow School 1311: Roots Heritage Travel
Moscow School 1311 was one of the first Jewish day schools in Russia and with support from ORT and the Jewish Agency for Israel, has become one of the best Jewish schools today. Following its vision of Jewish travel as an effective engagement tool, Genesis supported a week-long tour of Jewish heritage sites in Eastern Europe, funding up to twenty-five graduating students' trips. The program included meetings with local Jewish communities, gathering information for the school’s memory book project, meetings with Holocaust survivors, and attending Jewish cultural events. Children from ORT Moscow school 1299 and participants of the Mini Academy of Jewish Studies (affiliated with Moscow State University) also took part in the trip.
