Taglit-Birthright Israel
Started in 2000, Taglit-Birthright Israel has brought almost 220,000 young Jews to Israel in the past eight years. Of these, approximately 10,000 were Jews from the FSU, with annual participation now running at 2,500. Hundreds of Russian-speaking Jews from North America and Germany also come on Taglit trips each year.

Support from Genesis has allowed Birthright Israel to improve programming for Russian-speaking groups in the following areas:
- adding content and site visits that are particularly relevant to the experience of Russian Jewry;
- increasing levels of professionalism in the training program for Russian-speaking Jewish madrichim (counselors);
- improving the process, whereby Russian-speaking IDF soldiers are chosen to join Birthright groups.
This project allows Genesis to partner with leading philanthropists on a transformative program that has a proven record of success in strengthening Jewish identification among young adults. Genesis' participation ensures that Birthright Israel focuses its energy on providing its Russian-speaking audience with the same degree of that characterizes their project overall.
