The funding, from Genesis Philanthropy Group, will help the umbrella organisation deal with Covid's impact on fundraising.
Maccabi Europe, the Jewish sports umbrella organisation, has been given an emergency grant to safeguard its future.
The funding, from the Genesis Philanthropy Group, comes after Covid caused a serious challenge to fundraising for the non-profit organisation.
Chairman David Beesemer said the money was vital to many of the group’s members, which include over 40 countries in Europe.
“Being unable to generate income whilst at the same time trying to offer support to our affiliates and their members during Covid has been a difficult balancing act,” he said.
“We see great value and importance in helping Maccabi Europe weather the storm of the pandemic, thereby allowing the organization to continue supporting its members virtually at present and prepare to kickstart its activities in post-Covid times,” she said.
